Emilie Autumn

Emilie Autumn is a singer-songwriter who also plays violin and writes poetry. She labels her style of music as "Victoriandustrial" which is heavily influenced by the Victorian Era, as well as asylums, mental health, feminism and glam-rock.
Sadly Emilie suffers from bi-polar disorder and has attempted suicide, landing her in a psychiatric ward for a period of time. She tries to turn her disorder into a positive by being a positive idol for people with similar issues to look up to.

Her image involves brightly coloured hair, often pink and sometimes sporting dreads. It shows an interesting blend between "Victorian gothic" and the "gothic subculture" of today. Her makeup and reflects this too as Victorian makeup was kept very fresh and simple whereas the makeup she wears is quite heavy and theatrical.

Her fashion follows the same vein in that it is obviously inflenced by Victorian fashion, with the use of corsets and lace but it is used in a much more modern and contemporary way.
